YOUNGSTERS have received certificates after showing readiness for the workplace.
The group of youngsters, from Easington Community School, took part in an open college network certificate course at Seaton Holme, Easington Village, where they learned skills to prepare them for life in the workplace over an eight-month period.
They went to the Groundwork East Durham offices, at Seaton Holme, where the course was organised, to receive certificates from Mich-ael Dennison, of the Community Enterprise organisation, and Christine Hepple and Jodie Parkin, who run Groundwork's youth team.
A course spokeswoman said: "This joint effort from both organisations has resulted in the young people gaining an insight into the workplace, and has gone some way to preparing them to face the future."
