SALSA dancing has proved popular at Durham's Gala Theatre, where a new class attracted 150 dancers on the first night.

The organisers are now considering adding a second night. The North-East Latin American Dance Association is holding the sessions on Wednesdays, at 7.30pm. Organiser Sokol Abazi said: "We have lots of people who come along, but we could do with some more men who would like to learn to Salsa. We are absolutely delighted with the response and are definitely thinking about running another night in Durham." The sessions cost £4, or £3 for students with a National Union of Students' card.
