The Great North Air Ambulance will be landing in the grounds of Richmond Castle next week to allow the team an opportunity to thank local people who have supported the service.

All are welcome to meet the crew at noon on Wednesday and special guests include Richmond MP, William Hague, and the town's civic dignitaries.

SCHOOL BURGLED: Thieves forced their way into outbuildings at Aysgarth School sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and stole a sit-on lawnmower, resembling a small tractor. Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the village is asked to contact local police.

SING ALONG: Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society is hoping the raise the roof at Richmond Town Hall when a cast of 15 perform two evenings of Old Time Music Hall. The shows will be compered by Trevor Allen but song sheets will be provided so the audience can join in from 7.30pm on Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26. Tickets cost £4 and can be booked in advance at the Richmond Tourist Information Centre or by telephoning (01748) 818514.

MARATHON MEN: Two local men will be pushing themselves to the limit in the name of charity this weekend. Angus Mansfield, 55, who works for Sodexho, at Catterick Garrison, is running the London Marathon for Kids Out, while Ian Hepworth, founder of Easby Electronics, tackles the 26-mile course around the capital for Sports Aid.

DISNEY DAY: Car dealership Simon Bailes Peugeot brings the Jungle Book to life at a family fun weekend at its premises in Northallerton and Guisborough on Saturday and Sunday. Celebrating the launch of the Disney Jungle Book 2, one family will win a trip to San Diego, in the US.
