A TEACHER in only her second year in the job has helped a primary school pick up a national award.
Rossmere Primary School, in Hartlepool, is one of only 106 nationwide to receive the Activemark Award from Sport England for its work keeping pupils active, fit and healthy.
Paula Grieves, the school's PE co-ordinator, started work at the school in September 2001 and has played a major part in helping the school achieve the award.
Headteacher Lisa Biggin said: "This award acknowledges the high level of hard work and commitment from our sports co-ordinator Paula Grieves."
To get the award schools must prove they offer a well-balanced physical education programme and teach children the importance of living an active life.
