My Sister's Place - Women's Advice Centre, in Middlesbrough, is advertising the help it offers to victims of domestic violence on local radio.

The campaign, which started this week and will run for three months, features a series of re-enacted scenarios based on real-life cases. The one-stop-shop has 263 clients, 17 per cent of whom have made successful injunction applications. The radio messages make clear that domestic violence is also a crime.

MP'S SURGERIES: Dr Ashok Kumar, Labour MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland, is to hold three advice surgeries on Tuesday. The first will be from 3pm to 4pm at Langdon Square Community Centre, in Coulby Newham; the second is from 4.15pm to 5.15pm at Nunthorpe Institute; and the third is from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at Sunnyfield House, Guisborough.

TOP TENANTS: Some of Stockton Borough Council's best tenants were recognised at an awards ceremony at Preston Hall,in Eaglescliffe, esterday. Several of the 27 to be recognised have been tenants for more than 40 years. Each of them was given the award for the way they have conducted their tenancy.

BUNNY HUNT: There will be an Easter bunny hunt on Monday, April 21, from 10am to 4pm at St Aidan's Church, Boosbeck, near Guisborough. There will be Easter bonnet, egg decorating and children's painting competitions.

ANIMAL RESCUE: A talk called Animal Rescue will be given by Pat Smith at Brotton Library on Wednesday, April 23, at 1.30pm. Ms Smith, who has 14 rescued greyhounds in her home, will take a dog to the talk.

SCOUT FAIR: The 1st Marske Barn Owls Scout group will hold an Easter fair next Saturday at Marske Community Centre, High Street, Marske, from 10am.

BOROUGH TEAM: Stockton Borough Council's Care For Your Area team will now be responsible for ground maintenance services across the borough.
