Firefighters from Darlington tackled a blaze at an industrial unit on the Faverdale Industrial Estate, Darlington, at about 1pm yesterday.

Two crews were dispatched to tackle the fire, which was contained in an industrial oven unit in the Acre Products factory.

DRIVER THEORY: The Cockerton and Branksome Living Enterprise group, in Darlington, is holding a free driver theory and hazard perception course for learner drivers taking their test. GUIDED WALK: To celebrate the Tree Council's Walk in the Woods campaign, a woodland wander is being held at Dinsdale, near Darlington, on Sunday, from 10.30am to 12.30am. Join members of the countryside team for a three-mile walk around Dinsdale. Meet at the bottom of Church Lane, Middleton St George.

ARCHERY SESSIONS: Scouts in the Darlington and District area can take part in archery sessions for all sections at a cost of £1 per person.
