Country Walk: All Saint's Church, Crathorne, holds a country and woodland walk and treasure hunt on Monday, from Park House, at 10am.

One of the two walks is approximately three miles, is suitable for families, and includes a treasure hunt, drinks and trampoline. The second is is approximately 4 miles. Participants should bring a packed lunch. Light refreshments will be on sale and there will be an opportunity to walk round the garden. There will also be a plant sale. Lace day: Cleveland Lace Day takes place on Saturday, June 14, from 10am to 3.30pm at the Egglescliffe Community Centre, Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe. Fun Run: A fun run starting at Bannatynes Health club, Ingleby Barwick, will take place on Sunday, June 8, at 11am. 500 runners are expected to take part in the run, which will raise funds for Cancer Research UK and for the primary schools of Ingleby Barwick. Summer Fair: St Therese of Lisieux School's summer fair will take place on Sunday, June 15, from 2pm to 5pm. Events and activities take place both inside and outside the school in Lamb Lane, Ingleby Barwick. There will be various stalls and activities. Admission is 20p for adults and children are free.

Zulu wars: At the next meeting of Ingleby Barwick and Thornaby Probus club on June 4, the speaker, G Turner will give a talk called Anglo-Zulu Wars. Promises auction: Worsall village hall building fund gained more than £6,000 when Henry Bell auctioned 100 promises. Winning bids included a landscape painting donated by local artist Mike Farbridge; a weekend for four in York made £300; a day's pheasant shooting raised £260, and a stone paperweight painted by DM and EM Alderson made £100

Charity fair: Organised once again by Yarm District Lions Club, the annual Yarm Charity Fair will take place on Sunday, June 1, in Yarm High Street, from 1pm to 4pm. This year, the fair will be opened by Mary Butterwick OBE. Many local and national charities will be represented. As well as stalls, there will also be roundabouts, Punch and Judy, rides and face painting. Teesside Voluntary Emergency Services will have a display of fire engine, ambulance and lifeboat equipment.
