Wolviston are powering ahead at the top of the table as they extended their lead to an impressive 32 points by defeating second-placed Seaton Carew on Saturday.

A six-wicket stand of 96 between Mark Mullen, who recorded 13 boundaries in 68 and Carl Peacock (37), enabled Wolviston to end on 183 all out in 47 overs after Geoff Ward had opened the innings scoring 46. David Alsop sent down 23 overs in the Seaton attack, returning 4-62 and Kevin Rowntree had 3-38 from his ten-overs stint.

Seaton's reply was indifferent, but their hopes were raised by a late partnership between Graham Sharp (44 not out) and Danny Evans, who added 45 batting at number ten. In the end though, the bowling of Martin O'Neil and Jimmy Jones proved decisive.

O'Neil bowled throughout for his excellent 5-59 return and Jones had 19.4 overs taking 5-42.

Seaton Carew stay second since third-top Billingham Synthonia also lost. Great Ayton won a close, high-scoring game by just 12 runs dismissing the Synners with just an over remaining.

Colin Murray was the most successful Ayton bowler with 4-51 from 19 overs, but his performance was outshone by Keith Martin, who sent down the maximum 25 overs for Billingham taking 5-103. Ayton's match-winning 204-9 came mainly from openers Neil Pearson, who had 11 boundaries in 71 and Glen Mudd, whose 62 included 12 fours. The pair put on 111 for the first wicket.

Captain Dean Kirby gave a man-of-the-match performance leading Marton to victory over Darlington.

His 11 overs yielded 4-28 and Christopher Lane had 5-45 from 16 overs as the visitors reached 163 all out. Danny Morgans (75), Keith Barker (31) and Colin Biglin (32) scored most of the runs.

Replying, Marton lost early wickets before Paul Henderson (54) and Kirby, with an undefeated 38 came together in the partnership which secured victory.

Chris Morrison aged just 14, bowled Marske to victory against Guisborough, capturing five wickets for just 31 runs in ten overs.

Shazad Ahmed made 83 for Marske as Steve Donlon took 4-62 and Steve Trillo 3-28, the pair each bowling 14 overs.

The Stanwix brothers were prominent for Barnard Castle against Middlesbrough. Michael had five sixes and four fours in 89 and David had three sixes and five boundaries contributing 57 to a total of 206-6. Three of the wickets were taken by Taylor for 29 runs. Middlesbrough never got to grips with their task, but an unbeaten 51 from David Aninakwah guided them to 122-6. Andy Toulson sent down an economical 14 overs, claiming 3-26.

The game between Redcar and Normanby Hall also ended in a draw. Ged Robinson with 72 led the Hall to 208-7 before Redcar replied with 184-7, which included 43 by Andy Wetherall and 35 from Ollie Rogers.

Bedale had no fewer than 169 runs to spare at Stokesley, whom they dismissed for just 81 with Shillito and Murphy claiming three wickets apiece. Batting first, Bedale ended on 250-5 as the runs flowed.
