YOUNG farmers bring a flavour of the countryside to the heart of a North-East city next weekend.
An information day is being staged at Durham's new Clayport Library, by Young Farmers' groups in the region, on Saturday, from 11am to 2pm.
They hope it will help to give urban dwellers a better understanding of the ways of the countryside and the farming community.
It is also a showcase for the Young Farmers' movement and the long list of events it is involved with in the North-East.
Other events at the library include story-telling sessions for children and a community voluntary service festival.
Staged by the Durham Volunteer Bureau, Saturday's festival recognises the valuable work of volunteers and aims to inspire others to help.
It includes live jazz, puppet shows, face-painting, art and photography, plus other music and dance displays.
