RESIDENTS will get the chance to view revised proposals for a flood defence scheme next week.
Two consultation days have been organised by the Environment Agency following suggestions from local people last year on the plan, for Lustrum Beck, in Stockton.
The open days will give people the chance to hear about the agency's preferred option for flood defences - which is a flood storage area with extra defences at Oxbridge, Newtown and the Tilery.
Changes have been made to the design after concerns were raised at open days in October, including the location of the flood storage area, which people feared would lead to a loss of amenities.
The area would hold water at times of flooding, and would be available to the community the rest of the time.
Lustrum Beck was hit last year by floods which affected Hartburn, Primrose Hill, Newtown and Oxbridge.
Residents and businesses in these areas have been sent information from the agency outlining the options, and inviting them to attend the open days.
Veronica Senior, project manager for the agency, said: "The agency has taken into account the views on the proposals voiced by residents."
There will be open days on the plans at Newton Community Centre on Wednesday, and Elmwood Community Centre, Hartburn, on Tuesday, June 17, with members of the agency available from 3pm to 8pm each day.
