THE results of tests on water samples from the Saltburn in Bloom poisoning a fortnight ago, have revealed a variety of chemicals and contaminants.
Pesticides, insecticides, acid-herbicides, lawn weedkiller, a chemical which delays crop ripening, a number of solvents and esters from hydraulic fluid were found.
Jackie Taylor, from Saltburn in Bloom, said she was shocked at the results, and had passed them on to the police.
Cleveland police have been officially informed of the poisoning and are now waiting for the results from soil tests taken at the same time.
After the poisoning, local people were appalled that anyone would deliberately kill the plants, and rallied round to ensure 300 hanging baskets and tubs were replaced in time for last week's Britain in Bloom judging.
The town has to wait until September to see if it has been successful in the Britain in Bloom competition.
