BRYAN SMART had to sit and suffer while his horses weren't running too well during mid-summer, but patience is a great virtue when it comes to training thoroughbreds and thankfully the winners are once again beginning flow for the Sutton Bank-based handler.

One of Smart's inmates responsible for the much-needed revival is Bonne de Fleur (3.05), who following victories at Beverley and Nottingham now travels to Leicester in the hope of completing her hat-trick in the Kilworth Springs Nursery.

Rather ironically the cheaply-bought daughter of Whittingham is doing far better than some of the more expensive two-year-olds in the stable, although her pedigree profile does suggest that this is the time to make hay.

One of the most compelling reasons to side with Bonne de Fluer stems from the fact that she will almost definitely be suited by the nature of the Midlands track.

Leicester is a pretty stiff course, especially the final couple of furlongs which are predominately uphill. Such contours should be right up the filly's street considering she has been showing plenty of zip when asked for maximum effort in the latter stages of her races.

Since scoring on the fibresand way back in February, Willie Haggas has been struggling to find the right opportunity on turf for Del Mar Sunset (4.40). It has not been for the want of trying and maybe the search is finally near to an end in Highfields Classified Stakes. Not only do the conditions of the 0-70 event dovetail superbly with Del Mar Sunset's current handicap rating of 69, but in addition the selection ran a cracker when chasing home Cripsey Brook and Prairie Wolf last time out.

Haggas has a great chance of initiating an across-he-card double at Chepstow via Perle d'Or (2.20) in the County Marquees Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs.

Perle d'Or made a highly satisfactory debut at York in July when fourth to a very useful colt of Paul Cole's, Blue Tomato. She finished hard on the heels of the front three that day, and even more significantly was a full five lengths clear of the fifth placed runner.

Eddie Ahern's hard-working agent, Jon Lees, has fitted the talented Irish jockey up with a mouth-watering book of fancied rides at the South Wales track including Ziet d'Alsace (5.00), a leading contender in the closing one-mile Wedding Day Handicap.

Ziet d'Alsace was bought out of the Giles Bravery' stable after running away with a seller at Yarmouth, money extremely well spent to my way of thinking because she has one or two bits and pieces of useful form at Class D level.

Over at Kempton I'm pretty sweet on the prospects of Bond Diamond (4.20) in the Renault Trafic Van Handicap.
