FOUR interactive whiteboards have been installed in classrooms in Blessed John Duckett RC Primary School, Tow Law, thanks to a fund-raising campaign.
Parents collected £2,000 by holding fairs and coffee mornings. Further donations to pay for the boards - touch-sensitive giant computer screens - were made by local businesses and community groups.
The school, which has 75 pupils and 20 nursery children, had planned to get the boards in April, but did not have enough budget money.
Headteacher Catherine Mullen said: "The parents and local community have been so generous, which has enabled us to lease the boards without delay.
"The boards enable us to teach a full class, compared with a couple of children at a computer, and access the Internet. And children can interact with them.
"It is 21st century technology which helps keep learning exciting for the children."
