Tow Law Area League: Esh Stag's Head recovered their top place in the table after they only dropped two points on their visit to Tow Law Rose and Crown.

The home side's lone success in the singles came from Ken Reagen, whilst the visitors had wins from John Hodgson, Colin Tomlinson, Mally Walker, Roy Brown and Dave Hindmoor to add to their two doubles wins.

The former leaders, Esh McKennas were pushed down to third place when they went down to a late recovery from the visiting Tow Law Dan's Castle A. Joe Starr, Alan Hennigan and Enid Starr took points for the home side with Angela Suddes, Rachel Hepple and Lee Stockdale levelling. However from that point the Castle took over to win all three doubles.

Esh Stag's Head lead the table by a single point from Billy Row Club, who are two points ahead of Esh McKennas.

Tow Law and District League

Newhouse Club maintained the pace at the top of the table with an odd point win in a remarkable match at Hamilton Row Black Horse, where all the players lost from their own down. The visitors were never headed as Harry Dinsdale put them ahead with Barry Sims levelling. Jeff Brown restored the Newhouse lead only to see Steve Wilkie square the match. In the decider Steve Turner took Newhouse to victory when he beat Jim Christalow.

Tow Law Rose and Crown slipped further down the table when they only took one point from their home match against Tow Law New Market B. Adam Orton scored the only point for the home side, whilst Gavin Tennant, Michael Bell, Tom Carter and Tom Hauxwell took the points for the visitors.

Tow Law Football Club lead the table by three points from Newhouse Club, who are four ahead of Tow Law Dan's Castle B.

Willington League

Sunnybrow Brown Trout A pulled off a good home win over Willington Black Horse Tavern when they only dropped two points. The visitors' points came in the singles when they had wins from Gary Brunskill and Eddie Haig. The home side had singles wins from Alan Bolam, Les Welch and Maureen Fox with Alan Bolam with Paul Allchurch and Rita Welch with Les Welch.

Hunwick Joiners Arms, despite their home defeat by the Prospect Club, still hold a four points lead at the top of the table. Willington Lion and Unicorn, the Prospect Club, Willington Club and Willington Cottles share the second place.

Crook League

Crook Travellers Rest were celebrating victories in both the League Singles Championship and the Doubles Championship in the Finals Night at Crook RAFA Club. In the semi finals of the Singles Championship, Rob Grayson beat Gerald Parkin 5-4, whilst Michael Burke beat Arthur Hope 5-4. In the final, Burke from the Travellers Rest beat Rob Grayson 5-3.

In the semi finals of the Doubles Championship Neil Campbell and Doug Bowey beat Paul Briddick and Gary Trow 5-0, whilst Jimmy Luke and Jimmy Armstrong beat Norman Slack and Alan Bibby 5-3. In the final, the Travellers Rest pair of Campbell and Bowey beat Luke and Armstrong 4-1.

Willington and District League

Willington Cottles B moved up to share the top spot with Sunnybrow Brown Trout when they won by the odd point at Willington Brewer's Droop. Vince Conaty and Jimmy Fleming took points for the home side, whilst Keith Nicholson, Paul Trow and Jimmy Gallagher took the necessary points for Cottles B.
