A scheme has been launched in the Scarborough area to encourage residents to help keep parks and gardens in good condition.
The borough council's Parks and Countryside Services has set up a Volunteers In Parks (VIP) project inviting people to take part in activities.
Events include spring bulb planting on Wednesday, October 22, turf laying on November 5, shrub planting on November 19 and tree planting on December 3.
The meeting places for the events will be the Buttermilk Bar in Peasholm Park, the duck pond in Valley Bridge gardens and the entrance to the Esplanade Rose Gardens on South Cliff.
