A TEENAGE rider from the village of Potto in North Yorkshire rounded off a fine season by winning the Foxhunter section at Stokesley Show.

Gemma Macpherson, who works for npower as a customer services adviser, took the championship with her Irish Cob Scoutbush.

The pair have done so well this season that they have secured sponsorship from First Aid Medical.

The 19-year-old, a former member of Hurworth Pony Club, has been riding since she was three and competing for at least nine years.

Her proud father, Ian, said: "I think she deserves a bit of recognition for all the hard work she has put in, holding a full time job as well.

"She has also had a lot of support from the team at Crossbank, Swainby, where she keeps her horse. She is being trained by Angela Nelson.
