On Saturday, 11 members from Billingham Swimming Club swam at the Annual Open Meet held at the Dolphin Centre, Darlington against tough opposition. With teams from all over the North of England competing.

In the 10/11 year old category Glen Martin performed magnificently gaining a silver in the 100m free, bronze in the 200m I.M, fifth in the 100m fly and seventh in the 100m back, he just missed out on the final coming ninth in the 100m breast all his swims were PBs.

Also in this age group were Gareth Allen with brilliant swims in the 100m fly and 100m back both with PBs. Anthony Brown produced a good PB in the 200m IM his other swims being 100m fly, free, breast and back. In the girls Katherine Usher with superb PBs in the 100m free, breast and back.

Three 12/13 year olds competed all with terrific PBs Brad Dixon with a PB in the 100m back and swam 100m free. Joanne Longster with PBs in the 100m back and free also swam 100m fly and Lisa Sheehan with a PB in the 100m free.

Emma Shepherd in the 14/15 category with two excellent swims picked up PBs in the 200m IM and 100m back.

Liam Sutheran in the Mens open had two tremendous swims the 50m free and 100m free both PBs. In the Ladies Jane Usher swam in the 100m back and free, 200m back, free and IM, 50m free. Also competing in this category Lorraine Riddle with very good PBs in the 200m IM and 100m breast her other swims were 100m back and free.
