A RANGE of activities and events have been organised to keep children occupied during next week's half-term holiday.

The programme of events will take place at Hartlepool Art Gallery, the Historic Quay and the town hall theatre.

Activities at the art gallery include a course called Explore East Asia, during which children will be able to make a Samurai helmet and Chinese lantern.

Hartlepool United's mascot, H'Angus the Monkey, will help with the lantern workshop on Tuesday.

Throughout the week young visitors to the Historica Quay will be able to take part in activities related to Peter Pan.

On Friday, a number of birds of prey will visit the quay.

At Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre there will be two children's shows on Thursday and the following Saturday.

The first will tell the story of Pinocchio while the second, called Starlight, is about a young girl visiting the land of Starlight.

Tickets for the shows cost £6, or £5 for concessions.

All the activities at the art gallery are free but there is fee to enter the Historic Quay.

For details of all the events, telephone (01429) 869706 or visit the Tourist Information Centre, in Church Square.
