TWO Japanese soccer stars are to have trials for a legendary British boys' club.

Shinnosuke Murata and his friend, Yoichiro Kawamura, both 15, hope to join Wallsend Boys' Club, North Tyneside, where Alan Shearer and Peter Beardsley played.

They are desperate to make their mark on the English football map.

Goalkeeper Shinnosuke, whose hero is David Seaman, and Yoichiro, who is a centre back, play for the academy side of Shonan Bellmare, in their homeland.

After finding out that restrictions on the number of non-EU players would rule out the chance of playing for a Premiership academy side, they resolved to find a suitable youth team in England.

Shinnosuke's father, May-ako, said: "In the process, we found the Wallsend homepage on the Internet.

"It has been made clear to us that England has organisations called boys' clubs, which are as good as academies.

"Indeed, Wallsend has produced a lot of famous players, so we believe the club would make Shinnosuke and Yoichiro better players."

Wallsend Boys' Club leader Gary Marshall agreed to the pair flying over this summer to see if they make the grade.
