With the season rapidly nearing conclusion points are precious for those chasing the title.

None more so than Hetton Lyons who will see today's fixture against Burnmoor as a chance to complete a double over the side 17 points ahead of them.

In the earlier fixture the Lyons completed a six-wicket win when professional Gerry Strydom came off the pitch with an unbeaten century. This is the only game Burnmoor have lost this season and so they will be keen to reap revenge. The experienced Paul Burn returns to their side with Alex Ludlow stepping down.

Hetton make three changes. Wicket keeper Graeme Martin resumes and Alan Loscombe and Martin Scott are included. The players out are David Naunton, Graeme Davey and Keith Ibbinson.

Leaders Boldon entertain neighbours South Shields and will hope their professional Orlanzo Jackson continues his superb form. His match winning display of 6-36 assisted Boldon to win the Northern Rock Bowl last Sunday.

Skipper Grant Forster missed the final but will return to lead his side against Shields. Batsman Byron Longstaff returns to replace Chris Mackley and Jonathan Bishop is in for Iain young.

Shields have Ashok Patel resuming which will benefit both batting and bowling departments. Youngster Mark Appleton is provided with an opportunity behind the stumps.

Eppleton, who entertain Marsden, expect to field the same side as last week. This means they include again the promising junior player Scott Borthwick. Marsden, looking for points to take them out of the bottom four, also field an unchanged XI.

South Hetton could face a difficult task at Seaham Harbour although the Harbour will be without last weeks heroes. David Tompson (5-22) and David Leslie with an unbeaten 83 assisted the side to victory for just the second time. Neil Swainston is still sidelined but Martin Gill returns to bolster the batting.

South Hetton expect to have Colin Brammer back and Chris Naylor is likely to play in place of Chris Fawcett.

Horden will be looking to get back on track. After a superb win against Hetton Lyons two weeks ago they lost their grip on the Northern Rock Bowl in a low scoring game. Wicket keeper Jeff Laws and batsman Stephen McCoy are absent for the visit of Whitburn.

Paul Cook and Ian Elliott are back for Whitburn with brothers Peter and Paul Marshall dropping into the second XI.

Durham City, in need of points, have an opportunity when they visit Felling City and expect to be unchanged. Malcolm Norman and David McCaffery line up for Felling in place of Chris George and Michael Jackson.
