A WOMAN who sold drugs to people through her parents' kitchen window was jailed for four years yesterday.

Tanya Bygate was seen by officers who set up surveillance outside her Washington home handing small packages through the window for money.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how undercover officers had installed recording equipment outside the house on six days in April and May.

Twenty-one visitors were recorded on video.

Bygate, who lived at her parents' home in Coach Road Estate, Washington, Wearside, with her boyfriend, Shaun Morson, admitted possessing heroin and amphetamines with intent to supply.

She also admitted supplying a £10 bag of heroin to a customer who was stopped by an officer after visiting the house on the last day of the police operation.

Brian Russell, in mitigation, said: "She was involved to finance her own drugs habit."

Judge Maurice Carr jailed Bygate for four years.

Morson, who threw 20g of amphetamines and 2.5g of heroin out of the window and flushed drugs down the toilet when police raided the house, admitted assisting an offender.

Glen Gatland, in mitigation, said his client tried to get rid of the drugs out of misplaced loyalty to Bygate.

Morson was sentenced to an 18-month community rehabilitation order.
