A MAN had to undergo hospital treatment after being knocked unconscious in a Redcar nightclub.
The incident happened between 11.45pm last Friday and 12.30am on Saturday at the town's Top Deck nightclub.
The 24-year-old was the victim of an unprovoked attack which, as well as knocking him unconscious, caused extensive injuries to his mouth.He spent the night in hospital and requires an operation for his injuries.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "The injuries are believed to be from a single punch. However, the male cannot remember exactly what happened, and police are treating this as a serious assault."
