ANYONE who has still to cast their vote in the assembly referendum can still do so in person until 10pm tonight.

There are 55 assistance and delivery points around the region where voters can hand over their ballot papers in person.

Members of staff are available to help with any questions voters may have and there are voting booths available so papers can be filled out in secret.

So far, 37,426 people have voted in this way. Among the assistance and delivery points are:

Durham City: Information offices at Claypath and Meadowfield.

Easington: Building 10, Easington council offices; Peterlee Information Centre, 4 Upper Yoden Way, Castle Dene Shopping Centre, Peterlee; Civic offices, Seaham Town Council, 3/4 Adelaide Row, Seaham.

Gateshead: Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead; Felling District Office, Booth Street, Felling; council office, Wesley Court, Blaydon; council office, Durham Road, Birtley.

Hartlepool: Civic Centre; Central Library, York Road.

Middlesbrough: Town Hall reception, Russell Street; area housing office, Berwick Hills Centre, Crossfell Road, Berwick Hills; Rainbow Leisure Centre, Parkway Centre, Coulby Newham.
