IF MONEY was no object, a holiday in the Caribbean, a round-the-world cruise or a trip to Disneyland would be the top of most people's wish lists.

But a North-East family have celebrated becoming millionaires with a trip not to Barbados or the Bahamas - but Bognor Regis.

The County Durham couple and their six children could have travelled anywhere in the world with their new-found wealth.

But they chose to swap the biting wind and driving rain of the North-East for the West Sussex seaside resort famed for its Butlins holiday camp.

The mother is thought to have won £1m on a scratch card she bought from a Hartlepool supermarket more than a week ago.

Staff at the Morrisons store checked the ticket before the punter went home to a nearby village to share the news with the rest of her family.

Neighbours said they left their terraced house in Hesleden in a limousine last week to pick up their cheque in Liverpool, before heading to the south coast to avoid the fuss.

Morrisons and Camelot have both refused to confirm the jackpot - a stance usually taken when winners opt for anonymity - but it has been the talk of the town and their village in recent days.

A neighbour of the Hesleden winners said: "They were picking up the cheque from Aintree last week and decided to travel on to the south coast in the limo.

"A few friends have also gone down there to celebrate the win, including one lad who they drink with."
