The event will be launched on Friday, March 4, at noon, by the Mayor of Sedgefield Borough Councillor Marie Predki. Among the highlights will be a floral demonstration by John Thexton, who has exhibited for the Queen and Prime Minister Tony Blair.

This event will be open to the public on the Friday, from 12.30pm to 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm, with a craft fair and cream teas in the caf on Mothering Sunday.

All proceeds will be donated to the mayor's chosen charity - the Butterwick Hospice, in Bishop Auckland.
