A club which aims to help businesses succeed in international trade has been set up in the region.

The Tees Valley Exporters Club, backed by UK Trade and Investment, aims to bring together new and experienced exporters to share ideas and learn from each other's experiences.

Members will be able to share best practice and meet like-minded businesses. The club also offers a chance for informal "mentoring" for those new to exporting from more experienced members.

Simon Crosby, UK Trade and Investment's senior international trade advisor at Business Link Tees Valley, explained: "The new club is a great way for those involved in overseas trade to meet like-minded individuals in an informal setting, to learn from each other and find out about the wide range of support that is available to them.

"We are really looking forward to meeting local businessmen and women."

The first meeting of the club will be at the St George's Hotel, Durham Tees Valley Airport, on Thursday, March 3, at 8am. There is no charge to attend and a light breakfast will be provided. Meetings will be held every three months. For details, call (01642) 341444.
