A STALKER who brought months of terror to the mother of his two children escaped a jail sentence yesterday.
Harrogate magistrates imposed a restraining order on 34-year-old Stephen Walker and warned him that if he breached it he would ''go away, and not for a short time.''
Walker, a dustman who now lives in Grove Park Terrace, Harrogate, had admitted harassing Sharon Snowden and was ordered to do 70 hours of unpaid community work and pay £85 costs.
The 12-month restraining order prohibits him entering Bowland Close, Harrogate, where Ms Snowden lives.
