A SHAKESPEARE classic is touched by movie magic at a school production which opened on Thursday.
Pupils from Harrogate Ladies' College are performing A Midsummer Night's Dream until Saturday.
And audiences are promised a visual treat, as the play's real world will be portrayed as a 1920s black-and-white movie, and the dream world as the elusive world of Hollywood, in full colour.
Head of drama and theatre studies Gin Walshaw said: "We have remained faithful to the comic confusion while using the world of movies, from silent pictures through to talkies and colour, to heighten the contrast between the real and the mythical."
All proceeds from the performances will go to Springwater School in Harrogate, an all-age mixed school for pupils with severe learning difficulties.
Tickets are £5 each and are available directly from the school by calling (01423) 504543.
