BUSINESSES in the Tees Valley have the chance to quiz the tax man during a series of seminars this month.

Free advice and help will be on offer to firms during advice mornings held by Business Link.

Ian Wade, customs and excise business manager, said: "I would urge business people to attend these local advice mornings for free help from Customs on VAT, importing and exporting.

"Whether you are not yet registered for VAT, have been registered for some time or still considering your company's business plans, we are here to help and will give you step-by-step assistance."

Chris Kerr, of Teesside Inland Revenue, said: "This is an excellent opportunity to meet with our business advisors who can help businesses not only meet their responsibilities to the Inland Revenue, but do so with confidence."

Events run from 9am to noon at Guisborough Hall Hotel on Tuesday and on Tuesday, March 15, at Darlington Football Club.
