Police are treating the death of a 49-year-old woman, on Teesside, as "suspicious.''
The woman's body was found in an upstairs room of a house on Middlesbrough's Park End council estate in the early hours of today.
The alarm was raised and a murder style police investigation launched after an ambulance crew was called to the house in Penrith Road at 2 am.
A Home Office pathologist carried out a post mortem, but the results proved inconclusive and further tests are to be carried out. A 49-year-old man was arrested at the house and is helping Cleveland Police with their inquiries. .
