PAINTINGS of a ruined castle and its dramatic backdrop are going on show at a town art gallery.
The images of Knaresborough Castle were produced last year by artist in residence, Adam King. He worked at the site with the help of an Arts Council research grant and studio space provided by Harrogate Museums and Arts.
Twenty five of his paintings will be on show at the Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate from tomorrow until April 17.
He said: "The site provided an abundance of inspiration, it expanded my confidence, resulting in an eclectic collection of work that tackled techniques and genres I had previously avoided."
Knaresborough Castle re-opens to the public on Good Friday.
