A CITY council is refusing to accept the design of five new homes planned for a former North Yorkshire quarry.
Planning officers are recommending approval of the scheme by A&G Developments (Yorkshire) Ltd at Doublegates Quarry, Clotherholme Road, Ripon.
Although Ripon City Council is aware the scheme for five new homes on the site has been allowed on appeal they do not accept the designs as presented.
They also believe the development is too close to a road used by heavy military vehicles en route to the Army barracks.
Independent government inspector ruled the site was appropriate for new housing.
