A NORTH-EAST arts festival is under way, with a host of events to pull in the visitors.
The 2005 Spring Thing is being run by Darlington Folk Club at the town's Arts Centre, and runs until Sunday.
One of its highlights will be tomorrow night, at 8pm, when Ashley Hutchings brings his five-piece band, The Morris On Band, to perform at the arts centre.
On Saturday morning, crowds will be treated to the annual tradition of dance displays around the town centre, followed by a colourful procession, which is due to arrive back at the arts centre at 12.45pm.
A variety of craft stalls and workshops will also be available at the centre throughout the weekend.
The Darlington Campaign for Real Ale also stages its 19th annual beer festival, running until Saturday, with a range of beers and ciders from across the world to be tasted.
