School pupils are to team up with students from a comprehensive to celebrate Albert Einstein's birthday.
To mark National Science Week, children from primary schools in east Durham will link up with Easington Community School to hold birthday parties in honour of the scientist.
The students will be celebrating the life and work of Einstein at Easington Community School on Monday and Wednesday.
The parties will be part of a series of events planned by the school's science department.
The activities have been planned by Helen Vaughan, a PhD physics student who is working at the comprehensive as part of a teaching fellowship scheme.
Other activities include assemblies by science staff, a decorate an egg competition for years seven and eight, and a science race for years eight and 11.
