PARTY-loving Prince William downed Jack Daniels and coke with friends on a drinks session at an exclusive North-East bar.

William visited Newcastle for a private party and afterwards the 22-year-old celebrated with 150 friends at the Attic bar, a favourite haunt for celebrities and soccer stars.

The Prince, wearing a baseball cap, turned up at the bar at about midnight on Thursday and took over the whole of the venue's first floor.

The bar bill topped £2,000 as William and pals partied into the early hours.

He cheered on a demonstration of 'cocktail flaring', where Attic barman Steve Riddell, 23, showed him the art of spinning, flipping, throwing and catching the drinks.

Mr Riddell said: "He was so low-key that I didn't notice him, it had to be pointed out to me that he was there at all.

"I do a little routine every night, rolling bottles down my arm and flinging drinks around as I make cocktails.

"When I knew he was there, it made me a little nervous, I've never done it in front of royalty before."

Attic management were remaining tight-lipped about the Prince's partying, but confirmed he was there on Thursday night.

It's not the first time William has partied the night away in the North-East.

In 2000, he took part in karaoke at the Crossways Hotel, Thornley, County Durham - a trait his brother Harry continued there last year.

They were in the former pit village as part of A-level geography studies looking at the effects of mining on the environment.

Prince William has pals at Newcastle University and has ridden with friends from the Tynedale Hunt.
