TWO former youth club members want to organise a reunion.
The Rough Lea Methodist Youth Club, in Hunwick, was open from 1944 to 1964 for dances, football and films.
Former members Tom Musgrave, 77, from Hunwick, and Arnold Johnson, 74, from Spennymoor, want old friends to get back together.
Mr Musgrave said: "I want to get everyone back and have a chat. We all had a great time at that youth club." The club was started by Walter Turnbull in 1944 and held every Wednesday, starting with hymns in the chapel school room of the Rough Lea Methodist Church and then moving in to Temperance Hall, known as the tin hut.
In 1956, the club moved to the social service centre and two 35mm cinema projectors were erected.
Mr Musgrave said: "We would always stop the film man taking the reels on the way to the cinema and then watch them in our youth club."
Anyone interested in the reunion can contact Mr Musgrave on (01388) 603749 or Mr Johnson on (01388) 810651.
