A POPULAR woodland walk is now suitable for wheelchair users and parents with buggies.
The path, from Pinewoods to the Royal Horticultural Society's Harlow Carr Gardens, in Harrogate, has been improved with a smoother surface and information panels to describe the flora and fauna.
A fun-day was held on Saturday when the path was officially opened by Harrogate Mayor Councillor Margaret-Ann de Courcey-Bayley.
The Pinewoods Conservation Group has created the path with help from the junior soldiers of the Army Foundation College, in Harrogate.
They have worked in partnership with Harrogate Borough Council's parks' team.
Terry Knowles, chairman of the conservation group, said: "I would like to thank all the members of the community who have helped in this project, leading to the successful completion of the memorial pathway.
"At last we have good access throughout the whole of this wonderful woodland and already more people are walking through and appreciating this area of natural beauty."
The path is to be registered as a public right of way.
