EASTER holidaymakers in the region are getting the best deal when they exchange their currency, according to latest research.
On one day across the country, a poll showed major disparities between exchange rates at different UK airports.
The survey showed that the difference for changing £500 cash into Euros was up to £23 per person.
Holidaymakers flying from Durham Tees Valley airport were offered the best rate of exchange, while Bristol holidaymakers got the worst deal.
The survey found a traveller from Durham Tees Valley airport changing £500 cash would receive £687 whereas a traveller changing the same money at Bristol airport would get £655.
Each British tourist travelling abroad takes about £480.
