STUDENTS from Wensleydale School in Leyburn made a clean sweep at the recent area badminton championships at Northallerton.
John Sullivan was the boys singles champion in the under-12s tournament and also won the doubles partnered by Tom Hammond. Shona Gregson won the girls singles title and came first in the doubles with Amy Fawcett.
In the under-13s, Claire Moore was the girls singles champion and carried off the doubles trophy with Rachel Fawcett. Paul Hemsley came first in the boys singles championship and won the doubles with Grant Thwaites.
In the under-14s, the boys singles champion was Richard Sunter, who also came first in the doubles with Richard Teasdale. Abbi Holmes was the top girls singles player and won the doubles championship with Rachel Foster
