A CLAIRVOYANT, a candle therapist and a botox specialist are among the attractions at a fundraising spring Pamper Day to help build a specialist therapy centre.

The event, at the Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge, will raise cash for the Butterwick Childrens Hospice - Put Your Foot in It campaign.

The charity has just reached the half way mark in its attempt to raise £780,000 to build a Family Support and Complementary Therapy centre next to its adult and childrens hospices in Stockton.

The fundraising event will offer demonstrations, ranging from hair and make-up to cocktails and chocolates, and treatments including hand a foot treatments, reflexology, reiki and meditation.

Morritt owner, Barbara Johnson, said: "We thought it would be a good opportunity for people to shake off the winter gloom and give themselves a treat. We are supporting the Butterwick Childrens Hospice throughout 2009 and half the ticket price - thats £25 - will go to the hospice."

The Put Your Foot in It campaign is also seeking sponsors for space in the new centre for £20 a square foot and has just announced it has completed the first floor - raising more than £52,000.

Each square foot carries the name of the person or business that sponsored it on a roll of honour on the Put Your Foot In It website putyourfootinit.org.uk and the roll of honour will also be displayed in the new building.

Capital Appeal Manager for the Hospice, Sue McCabe, said: "We have had large footprints totalling thousands of pounds, and single ones from individual people. One of the largest individual amounts is nearly £16,000 from three men who were sponsored to trek to Everest base camp."

The £50 ticket, for the pampering event on Monday April 27 between 10am and 4pm, will include coffee, lunch and afternoon tea as well as two treatments.
