THE Environment Agency is investigating the source of a white foamy substance on a North-East river.
The detergent-like froth was covering a large section of the River Skerne in Darlington town centre on Saturday morning.
Environement Agency officials said they first received a report about the substance from a caller in Newton Aycliffe on Friday night.
He added that an officer was at the site and would complete a full investigation before deciding whether to pursue any enforcement action.
