THE creativity of a toddler from Barnard Castle has been rewarded by recognition in a national art competition.
Chloe King, 4, won a highly commended award in the minimecardco.com Christmas art competition, which had over 7,000 entries from across the UK.
The artwork created by Chloe, who goes to Little Ladybirds day nursery in Barnard Castle, impressed the team at the Mini Me Card Company so much she was given a Highly Commended award.
Creativity is so important for children and it helps them to develop in so many ways, said Michelle Lister from Little Ladybirds.
We aim to help our children to develop great life skills for use in later life.
The children of all ages from babies up to preschool took part in creating artworks which were made into wonderful greetings cards and whilst we thought they were very good we never expected to get into the finals and then actually win an award."
