More than 100 jobs are up for grabs from the likes of Marks and Spencer, TK Maxx and Wagamama as Teesside Park hosts a major jobs fair.

A string of retailers will be taking part in a recruitment drive at the shopping complex on Tuesday, October 8, which currently employs more than 2,000 people in 60 different stores.

The event, taking place at the Hello Building, next to Sports Direct, comes as chains start to ramp up Christmas recruitment - with both freshers from Teesside University and anyone looking for a new opportunity invited to attend.

Retailers taking part include Bubble CiTea, Card Factory, Currys, Five Guys, JD Sports, M&S, Nandos, Ninja Warrior UK, O2, PureGym, River Island, Schuh, Showcase Cinema, Sports Direct, The Works, TK Maxx and Wagamama.

Those attending the event - which takes place between 4pm and 7pm - are asked to arrive interview-ready and prepared with copies of a CV.

The job fair will also be joined by a student event on the same day, where there will be a range of exclusive offers and activities for students from 4pm until late.

This includes buy one get one free at Bubble CiTea, 25% off at Tim Hortons, or a free game of bowling at Hollywood Bowl’s pop-up lane.

Students will also be able to travel to the event for free between 3.30pm and 9pm using the TP1 service which is running especially for the event, using their student ID.

Catherine Furlong, centre director at Teesside Park, said: “Teesside Park is a significant employer in the area, with more than 60 stores and restaurants collectively employing over 2,000 people.

“Our upcoming jobs fair is a great way to support employment in the local community while helping occupiers with their Christmas recruitment. It’s also the perfect time as Teesside University welcome a new wave of freshers – potentially looking for employment in the area.

“We’d encourage anyone looking for a new opportunity to come along – especially students who can make use of the free bus service and enjoy the exclusive student deals and fun on the evening.”
