Train services between Middlesbrough and Darlington are being cancelled due to a signal failure and all lines are blocked.
The disruption is expected to go until 12.45pm and alternatives are being
Network Rail are aware of the problem and they have sent an engineer to the affected area.
Here is advise depending on which train service you were hoping to catch:
TransPennine Express
Rail replacement has been requested and will operate between Northallerton and Middlesbrough.
When services resume customers may travel on Northern services between Thornaby and Saltburn.
Northern
Effect on service:
Trains are unable to run between Middlesbrough and Darlington in both directions.
Trains are unable to run between Middlesbrough and Sunderland via Hartlepool in both directions.
