Train operator LNER is offering Newcastle United fans a refund or opportunity to rebook their journeys after the the postponement of tomorrow’s Carabao Cup game
Newcastle's Carabao Cup third round tie at Wimbledon, with Wimbledon AFC on Tuesday (September 24) night has been postponed because of flooding in the local area.
An LNER spokesperson said: "Following the postponement of tomorrow’s ( 24 September 2024) Carabao Cup game between Wimbledon AFC and Newcastle United, train operator LNER is offering fans who booked direct an e-voucher refund or the opportunity to rebook their journeys.
"The game has been postponed following extensive flooding at the Cherry Red Records Stadium. The offer applies to all ticket types, including Advance tickets, which are not usually refundable.
LNER’s Commercial Director, David Flesher, said: “We were shocked to see the terrible flooding at Wimbledon AFC’s stadium.

"We know many Newcastle fans were travelling to the game with LNER, so we’re pleased to be able to offer this refund, or the opportunity to rebook their journeys to those who booked directly with us on our app, our website, by phone or in person at one of our stations.”
Fans are advised to use the LNER app or website (lner.co.uk), and on the booking scroll down to “request a refund”. Alternatively they can call 0345 7 225 333.
