Emergency services are on the scene and a roundabout is closed following a serious crash this evening (Sunday, September 22). 

The Dalton Park roundabout, which joins the A19 and A182 near Murton has been shut by police. The road closure is expected to be in place for some time. 

Police, the North East Ambulance Service, and the Great North Air Ambulance are all reported to have attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "The road at Dalton Park roundabout is currently closed due to a serious accident.
