These are the beaches in the region where dogs will no longer be banned after the rules connected to dogs on beaches will end at the end of this month.

Each year, beaches including Whitley Bay, Saltburn, Whitby, and Redcar become 'dog-free' zones from Sunday, May 1, for the summer period until September 30.

But, from October 1 right up until April 30, 2025, dogs will now be allowed on these sections of the beaches, giving their owners another place they can go for an Autumn and Winter walk.

While the rules end at the end of September - please don't break them in the final week, as it is a £100 'Public Spaces Protection Order' fine for those dog walkers who take their dogs on certain sections of beaches between May and September.

This list is based on information provided by the council and information that was issued last year.

From October 1, dogs will now be allowed back into these sections of beaches.
