A launch event for a County Durham housing development has resulted in the first properties on the site being reserved.
The event, hosted by Banks Homes, the housebuilding arm of the Banks Group, marked the start of their first large-scale residential project, Cathedral Meadows, on Station Road, West Rainton.
The development will feature 150 high-specification homes, with 120 detached family homes and 30 affordable properties.
The launch, held at Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham, showcased the sustainable house designs for Cathedral Meadows.
Aisling Ramshaw, head of sales and marketing at Banks Homes, said: "Banks Homes is focused on creating sustainable, contemporary living spaces in desirable locations that enrich our customers’ lives and we couldn’t have wished for a better reaction to this concept from visitors to our Cathedral Meadows launch event.

"We got so much fantastic feedback on the quality of our designs, the high specification to which our homes are being built and the style that we offer as standard, and to have secured our first reservations at the event is hugely encouraging."
Visitors were also treated to a performance by the West Rainton Primary School steel band.
Local homebuyers reserved the first properties at the event, with Banks Homes and sales agent Urban BASE now pursuing further interest in specific plots.
Construction at Cathedral Meadows is already in progress, with the show home expected to be ready for visitors before the end of the year and the first occupants moving in in 2025.
Each property will feature an advanced Hive heating system, an Omega kitchen, Porcelanosa bathrooms, a Ring video doorbell, a full range of kitchen appliances, and a fully-turfed garden.
The development will also include a new play area, landscaped areas, and public open spaces.
Ms Ramshaw added: "Launching Cathedral Meadows, and showing how we’re creating a distinctive, desirable place for people to live, is a real landmark moment for Banks Homes."
