One man has been hospitalised and another arrested after a brawl in a car outside a petrol station.
Police descended on the Esso garage off Ropery Lane in Chester-le-Street at about 11pm Thursday (September 12) night after receiving 999 calls reporting a fight in a vehicle.
A man in his 30s suffered injuries to his ear, eye and mouth and was taken to University Hospital North Durham for treatment.
He has since been discharged.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and taken into custody where he remains.
A Durham Constabulary spokesperson said: “An investigation is ongoing.”
