A police officer is facing the sack after she was convicted of data breaches when she appeared in court.
Sergeant Tracy Houldey was fined when she was found guilty following a trial at Newcastle Crown Court.
The Cleveland Police officer is now subject of a disciplinary hearing for breaching confidentiality and discreditable conduct while working in the force control room.
The sergeant is accused of ordering a junior colleague to carry out automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) check on two people in the early hours of the morning.

Allegation 1 - At 02:02 hours on 29 October 2021, whilst a Temporary Inspector carrying out the role of Force Incident Manager (FIM) within the Force Control Room, you ordered a staff member to conduct an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (‘ANPR’) check on a person’s motor vehicle. The check was conducted after that person had been located and was made without a proper policing purpose.
Allegation 2 - At 05:16 hours on 29 October 2021, whilst a Temporary Inspector carrying out the role of Force Incident Manager (FIM) within the Force Control Room, you ordered a staff member to conduct an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (‘ANPR’) check on a person’s motor vehicle. Allegation 3 – On 15th July 2024, you were convicted following trial at Newcastle Crown Court of knowingly or recklessly obtaining personal without the consent of the data controller, contrary to section 170(1)(a) and 196(2) of the Data Protection Act. You were fined and ordered to pay prosecution costs.
The misconduct hearing, which is held in public, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 18.
